Honley Graveyard Restoration & War Graves Recovery

Thanks to all the volunteers from Friends of Honley for all their hard work clearing the graveyard.

An early objective of the Honley Remembers Project was to clean up the War Memorial, and uncover the War Graves located within the village graveyard at Green Cliff.

The graveyard had been untended for many years and was completely overgrown, making access to most graves nigh on impossible.

With the help of a dedicated team of volunteers from the Friends of Honley, and corporate community volunteers from Cummins Turbo Technologies, the graveyard is being gradually restored to its former glory. This work is ongoing …

Most important, the Commonwealth War Graves of the fallen servicemen who were repatriated after the Great War, and buried in their local graveyard, have been made accessible for all to visit.
